Transferable on Death (TOD) Gifts

Harold and Jeanne wanted to ensure the mission of a charitable organization they supported would continue after their lifetime.

"We've seen this organization grow and help many people. We want that to continue," Harold shared.

Their investment advisor suggested naming the nonprofit as a TOD beneficiary of a mutual fund. This allowed them to retain ownership and use of the fund during life, while transferring the value to the nonprofit after both had passed.

"Setting it up was simple," Jeanne said. "And we still get to use the account while we need it."
